Board of Directors

The board is made up of seasoned academics and technocrats whose experiences are world class and in tune with international best practices. Below are their brief profiles:

Chairman

CELESTINE O. E. ONWULIRI, FAS, KSJ, JP
B.Sc., Ph.D. (Nigeria), C. Biol., M.l. Biol. (London), FBSN, FNSP, FCIDA, FNSBMB, FAAS, fseh, Hon FNIBE, ASIF, ALOHA

is a distinguished Professor of Zoology. He is the 5th substantive Vice- Chancellor, Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, FUTO and the 3rd substantive Chairman of FUTO CONSULT LTD. He graduated with a B.Sc. degree (1975) and a PhD (1980) both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His academic brilliance earned him the University of Nigeria Foundation AID Scholarship (1972-1975) and the Vice-Chancellor's prize as the Best Overall Graduating Postgraduate Student (1980).

He has also served as consultant to several national and international agencies including the World Health Organization, Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Cater Center/Global 2000 etc. Professor Onwuliri has over 28 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in six Universities. He was twice Head, Department of Zoology, thrice Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, sub-Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Acting Vice-Chancellor, all at the University of Jos, and currently Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Owerri since June 2006.

Professor Onwuliri is a committed apostle of the development of the human capital. He has successfully supervised twenty one (21) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates for the advancement of Science and Technology Education in Nigeria.

Professor Onwuliri has served the larger society in various capacities such as

National President, Nigerian Society for Parasitology (now Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria) (1993-1997),
Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture, Youths and Sports, Imo State (1997 -May 1998 and Oct. 1998 - May 1999);
Honourable Commissioner, Agriculture and Natural Resources (May 1998 - October 1998),
Supreme Subordinate President, Nigeria Commandery, Knights of Saint John International (2009-date),
Member, Committee of Assessors, Nigeria National Merit Award (2002-date);
Member, Presidential Technical Committee on Consolidation of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria (2006-2007),
Member, Ministerial Committee on the Harmonization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria (2006-2007)

Professor Ebong T. Eshett
B.Sc. (Nigeria), M.Sc., Ph.D. (Ibadan)
is a dedicated and progressive member of FCL Board of Directors. He holds the B.Sc degree of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as well as the M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from the University of Ibadan. Due to his prowess in academics and management, he has served well and efficiently in various Government establishments and educational institutions. Professor Eshett has held strategic positions of high responsibilities since 1986, including Head of Department and Dean of School. Currently, he is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo state. He is a member of many professional Associations both local and international.

Professor Martin I. Nwufo - B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Ibadan) - Member
is a committed and surefooted member of the FCL Board of Directors. He holds the B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Nigeria’s premier university, the University of Ibadan, where he displayed astounding academic excellence. He has served in various academic and management positions from 1978 till date and has garnered a lot of experiences in management. His management proficiency served him particularly well over the years as Head of Department and Dean of School. Currently, He is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo-State. He is a member of many professional Associations both Local and International.

Charles O. Omeire, mni, FNIM, - Member/Secretary
B.A. (Ed.) (Cal), M.Sc., Pol. Sc. (Ibadan)
is the Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri and the Secretary to the Board of FUTO Consult Ltd. A seasoned corporate administrator and project manager, he obtained his B.A from the University of Calabar and M.Sc from the University of Ibadan. Mr. Omeire has been in public service rendering world class services from 1989 till date, from Imo State University through Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike to FUTO. As the university registrar, he has been involved in management decision making at the highest levels. Mr. C. Omeire, an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru and the Singapore Civil Service College, is a Member of the National Institute (mni). He is also a fellow of many professional bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute of Chartered Administration and Institute of Industrial Administration.

Mr. Robinson U. Akujobi, FCA - HND (Enugu), MBA (FUTO)
is the 4th Bursar of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and the doyen of accounting on the Board of FUTO Consult Limited. He holds the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from the reputable Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, Enugu state. His continued quest for knowledge took him to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri where he obtained the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking and Finance in 1997. He has served in various capacities in the financial sector with a track record of good performance. He is a fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Mr John E. Nwogu, FNLA, MNIM - Dip. Lib (Ibadan), MLS (Loughborough, U.K)
A vibrant member of the board, Mr. Nwogu is also the Librarian, Federal University of Technology, Owerri. The former Deputy Librarian and Coordinator, Reader Services and Acting Managing Director, FUTO Bookshop Ltd obtained a certificate and diploma in Library Studies from University of Ibadan between 1971 and 1974. In 1982, he bagged the Masters in Library Studies degree from the Loughborough University of Technology, Leicestershire in England. Possessing about 30 years of library working experience, he has attended over 21 local and international conferences, seminars and courses. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He holds a chieftaincy title of Ukoh Nguru.

Obiajulu A. Emejulu, FNIPR
B.A. Hons (Nigeria), M.A., Ph.D (Ibadan) - Managing Director
Appointed in October, 2006, he is the 5th substantive Managing Director of FUTO Consult Ltd. An Associate Professor of Communication and Language Arts in the Directorate of General Studies, FUTO, he showed a lot of inventive drive as Head of Department and succeeded in returning the then unit back to its original status as a directorate as conceived by the founders of the University. He gave vent to his entrepreneurial spirit when he set up the FUTO Community Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited in 2001 and helped to nurture it to a pride of place as a thriving investment and savings portal for the university community. He has keyed into the vision of the present Chairman and Board of the company to lead FCL to an enviable height and to position it for even more growth in the years ahead.
